Where Cowboys Linemen Rank Among 30-Plus Players Without Super Bowl Win
Fact Checked by Michael Peters

It’s been 28 years and counting since the Dallas Cowboys last hoisted the Vince Lombardi trophy, with the Mike McCarthy-coached club looking to snap that streak this fall.

When McCarthy and the Cowboys take the field Sunday for their season opener against the New York Giants on NBC, they’ll feature two of the best players in the league to never win it all. That duo, in veteran offensive linemen Zack Martin and Tyron Smith, are among the best players in the league to never win a Super Bowl, according to ProFootballReference.com.

BetTexas.com utilized ProFootballReference.com to look at the best players 30 years or older currently active in the NFL that have never won a Super Bowl. By utilizing their Hall of Fame monitor, we were able to determine the most deserving players to win the 2024 Super Bowl.

Unfortunately you can’t wager on the Cowboys in the state, as there are no legal Texas sportsbooks. It will be 2025 before the state legislature discusses legalizing again.

Where Cowboys’ Duo Ranks Leaguewide

Both veteran linemen rank in the top 10 across the league, with Martin having the third-highest Hall of Fame rating (88.68), behind free agent wideout Julio Jones (107.77) and Khalil Mack of the L.A. Chargers (89.85).

Smith, meanwhile, ranks seventh among current NFL players over the age of 30, with a score of 73.15, with the former USC Trojan sandwiched between Cameron Jones of the New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers defensive lineman Cameron Heyward.

Both longtime NFL players are among the reasons why the Cowboys rank high in Super Bowl futures. BetMGM Sportsbook — there is no BetMGM Texas — list Dallas as a 3.5-point favorite at the Giants on Sunday night.
