The countdown to Halloween is officially on as we get ready to turn the calendar to October, and in the Lone Star State, where residents are surely ready for temperatures to finally drop, it's also time to get your favorite costume ready to go.
Whether it be a classic such as a princess or a ghost, plenty of options are available with around 30 days to spare. To see what Texas residents are planning to wear for Halloween this year, BetTexas.com - home to all things Texas sports betting - used Google Trends to find the top 10 most searched Halloween costumes. The search period was filtered to a 30-day search period within Texas on September 25, 2024.

Movie Characters Prove Popular In Texas For Halloween
While the classic Princess costume was the heavy favorite in Texas via our search, movie characters - new and old - make up a good portion of our research.
At No. 2 was the Deadpool character, popularized by actor Ryan Reynolds in recent years. Reynolds and Hugh Jackman earlier this year paired up for the third installment "Deadpool and Wolverine" to the tune of over $1.3 billion at the international box office.
Tied for third (with a clown costume) was the Batman character, a staple of young children's Halloween costumes since the 1960s. No word on whether Texans prefer Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck or Robert Pattinson though!
Also making the list straight from the multiplex: Beetlejuice at No. 5, fresh off a comeback with the legacy sequel released earlier this month (also starring Keaton) and Joker at No. 10.
Texans must be more than ready for "Joker: Folie à Deux" starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, the sequel to the smash 2019 hit that saw Phoenix win his first Academy Award.
